Dear President-elect Erdogan
Congratulations, President Elect, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Rwandan People’s Party would like to congratulate you on your recent victory in the Turkish Presidential election. Mr Erdogan won the Turkish Presidential Election on the first count on Sunday
the 10th of August 2014.
The RPP hopes that Rwanda and Turkey will continue to have a good working relationship under Mr Erdogan’s presidency and under any other Turkish president. The relationship between Rwanda and Turkey has grown close in recent years. Rwandan and Turkish cooperation is now apparent in many fields. The RPP would like to see greater Turkish and Rwandan co-operation and not only in the economic field.
The Party would also like to see more cooperation in the area of education. The RPP urges the Turkish government to fund scholarships for Rwandan students in construction, agriculture, light manufacturing, engineering, economic finance and
In my capacity as a long-term member of the Turkish minerals, petrol, metallurgical Trade Associations, I am extending my party’s congratulations to President-elect Erdogan.
I would also hope that under the leadership of Mr Erdogan the Turkish government will encourage more investment by Turkish firms in Rwanda, and other countries in the Coalition of the Willing, and Northern Corridor, including Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan, especially I would like to see Turkish investment in banking, manufacturing, agriculture and construction in these nations.
The RPP believes that Rwanda is still a young country and has much to learn from Turkey. That country has become a major economic power and in recent years and is now the seventeenth richest country in the world. Rwanda can develop like Turkey, if
the country’s leadership make the right decisions and undertake sensible economic policies. In Turkey, Rwanda has a model for how it should develop.
Once again congratulations to President –elect Erdogan. The RPP hope that during your term in office that Turkish-Rwandan relations will grow even closer than they are now, to the benefit of both countries.
